TOMS shoes are awesome! I had the opportunity to get involved with a "Style Your Sole" party at Cowboys Stadium! The Salvation Army, former Cowboys players and others were there to help with the event! I sat down with 3 kids who were all related and were between the ages of 8-10. They decorated their Toms shoes with glitter, ribbons, paint, and buttons. I had a wonderful time talking with these kids and listening to their hobbies, interest, and just what a normal day is to them. I began to explain to the kids that they just bought a pair of kids in another country, a pair of Toms shoes. It brought a huge smile to their face and they were happy to hear that they were doing a random act of kindness for another kid who really needs shoes.
The TOMS Story
In 2006, American traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended children in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS Shoes, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One. Blake returned to Argentina with a group of family, friends and staff later that year with 10,000 pairs of shoes made possible by TOMS customers.
As of September 2010, TOMS has given over one million pairs of new shoes to children in need through Giving Partners around the world.

To give and then not feel that one has given is the very best of all ways of giving. ~Max Beerbohm |
