Everything You'll Every Be, You Already Are To Me!

Valleys and Hills of the Past

On August 3rd, 2010 my life went through a dark valley! I have a joyous life, with lots of love, support, and happiness.  Life has always been easy for me, I know I have the Lord to thank for that.  Life to me is like climbing a huge mountain, it's hard along the way and then you reach the top and you feel exhilaration, success, and accomplishment! Then you start going down hill, life seems ok and then all of a sudden... EEEEK! You're stuck in a valley you need to get out of.

My dark valley experienced happened when I tore my ACL at practice one night before the football season.  My world turned upside down, my sweet best friend, Brittany sprained her ankle seconds after my ACL tear.  It was like too much for one night, and it was so ironic for it to be the both of us together.  Why us Lord? We thought, we are the most positive, happy, smiley members of the team?
Jesus will never give you more than you can handle, I know that and Brittany and I stayed positive through the whole process.

After surgery August 31st of 2009, Cody and my sweet nephews "piling" love on me

Resting and recovering with my Codylove

Day of the First Cowboys home game, and some of my sweet teammates brought me flowers! And my BFF Kalee was there  to always lend a hand.  (that's me forcing myself to stay cheerful that tough day of not being on the field with my girls cheering)

Sending a special thanks to my family, friends, and especially Mom for all the prayers and encouragement.
For I can do everything with the help of Christ who gives me the strength I need. Phil 4:13

Still keeping our smiles on after hearing bad news! Nothing takes our glory away!

Gastronome's of Santa Fe

Recently I had my 25th Birthday in Santa Fe with my 2 friends, Brittany, Mia, and my sweet Mum went too! We had the best time there and can't wait to go back already! Growing up in New Mexico, we had been there a few times before, but I was too young to appreciate the culture.  Now that I am older, and ya 25 seems old to me, I just fell in love with the "city different." I want to share "some" of my favorite places to eat at if you ever visit:
La Fonda Hotel, for breakfast! Not only do they have a wonderful place to stay with great service, but their breakfast is awesome! I had 2 days in a row, their blueberry pinon pancakes!

The Shed, it's a cozy, adobe styled restaurant great for lunch, and for dinner, but you have to make advanced reservations, they fill up quick! I love their raspberry bisque cold soup with a hint of lime and sour cream!
Drum roll please......... and now for dinner, Geronimo's!!! I give it 5 stars! We had the best waiter, Paul! The atmosphere was like a modern, but cozy feel to it.  I had their Elk Steak! It's was full of flavor and cooked just right! Then we had the dessert sampler, and because it was my bday, we got the hook up! We celebrated with some complimentary champagne because our waiter loved us, and like I said was the best! We shared laughter, stories, and made some friends with the table next to us! It was a dinner to remember :)
Check out their menu and take your special someone to a nice dinner next time your in Santa Fe~

Another popular dinner place is the Pink Adobe! It's super cute, and has a great patio area!

The Pink Adobe was established in 1944 by Rosalea Murphy. Known affectionately by locals as "The Pink," the restaurant has grown into a local and national landmark since its humble beginnings serving Dobe Burgers, French onion soup, and hot apple pie.

Music Creates Memories and Brings Lots Back!

I am a music lover and constantly have it playing for background noise, cleaning, singing, dancing, even for making out, drinking coffee, and cooking! Old songs bring back so many memories! One in particular, I love "Clocks" by Coldplay, it makes me think of my brother Bart! When it came out, I was with him in Austin and we cruised the hill country and I just had a wonderful time and always do, and that happened to be the theme song for that trip. Now every time I hear it, I'll shoot him a text or give him a ring to tell him I'm thinking about him!
Next time you hear a song that brings back a happy or sad emotion, call or text that person that comes to mind, who knows you might just make there day or give them that extra fuel to get through this chaotic world!

Lately I have been jamming on pandora the artist Bon Iver and love, love all the songs that pop up! Also Adele has some great tunes too on Pandora! If you don't have Pandora check it out, I even bought a years worth because I exceed my limit playing time!

Journaling Sparks

Well, here I go, my first blog and don't have a lot to say for the first post, but I can tell you I will entertain this blog with my favorite foods, coffeeloves, smells, fashion, music, sights, travels, activities, decor, friends/family, and whatever sparks my mind to share with others! I love to journal in my notebook, whether it's about love, emotions, or my devotionals from the Bible. I think it's important to express yourself through journaling, then one day you can hand over your written treasures to your kids, and they can just see how interesting you really were!

Today, I have been inspired by my boyfriend, Cody who owns a crossfit gym in Tyler, Texas called GymFed Crossfit.  He has been on the paleo kick for quite sometime and I am trying my best to jump on this train and eat clean, so here is what I wanted to share, my new favorite snack is Steve's Original Paleo Krunch!
