Prayer

Sometimes people have trouble praying, where to start, what to pray for, and so on.  This morning I got brushed up on some helpful points on what to always include in prayer. It was after I listened to my devo, which you can too if you click this link: http://www.drivetimedevotions.com/mc/m/07ae5/
It began with Philippians chapter 4 verses 6-7
"Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.  Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.  If you do this, you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand.  His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."

We need to pray about everything in life, not just a major crisis, want or need.  The little things count too.  We can be as specific as we want. For example, if you are praying for your future husband, you can request for him to be tall, handsome and have blue eyes! I believe in specific detail, God wants to give you the desires of your heart.  It might seem funny to pray for something so specific, but not to God.
Our Prayer life should continue to grow, so we have to keep moving up on the scale and talk to him always!

3 important things to always have in prayer are: Adoration, which is talking to God about God, admiring Him and all the things He is to us.  Then, Supplication, in other words have practical request for Him.  Last, have Appreciation, be thankful to Him.

It's just like following direction on how to make a cake, you can't just put all the ingredients in together and bake, you have to follow step by step instructions, to make a yummy, tasteful cake.  Just like we do with praying to our heavenly Father, if we always include those 3 things in prayer, then when our major crisis or special request for something comes up in life, we have already been consistent and growing our relationship with Him, that he will honor our request and our anxiety will be taking care of.
